We has a good time and the food was great and not at all expensive for what it was. The couple that manages the restaurant was kind and competent. Will probably come back!

1680 Gourmet Taste

Food was absolutely amazing!! Very authentic Alentejano dishes, prepared with care and great presentation without compromising quantities! The beer was served very cold, unfortunately, the wine was served quite warm, which was a shame. The restaurant is inside an old convent and the aircon was not working, which made lunch a bit uncomfortable, but it was bereable, I will definitely go back, perhaps during winter time!! Thank you for the chef and staff attention, really made our day!

This restaurant in a restored convent was a great setting.  The owner/chef created some great dishes and special desserts.  Well worth the stop.  It is in the convent building, but no signs, so keep looking.

Our meal was spectacular.  The food was amazing and so fresh.  The cod and flamb&eacute; shrimp were top level.  The owner and his wife were so welcoming and it was one of our favorite experiences during this trip to Portugal.  A bit off the beaten path and no sign (due to building regulations) but WELL worth the trip.  Not to be missed.  Michelin should check out this place.

We wanted a lunch stop on our drive from Faro to Lisbon, there were six of us and it was a special birthday for one. Not far off the A22 and what a find! The hosts were superb, they gave flowers to the birthday girl on arrival, then took us through the menu making recommendations, every choice was spot on. The steaks melt in your mouth, shrimps and cod out of this world, salads to die for. Amazing wine and beer (Franziskaner). Sadly no time for dessert, so we will have to return! The location inside an old monastery is beautiful, check out the chapel, stunning ????
